Star Wars Battlefront 2 Trailer Reveals Terrifying Emperor Droids

In advance of Star Wars Battlefront II’s release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, EA has shared a new Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer that offers fans a mock of the game’s single-player campaign.

EA has released another trailer of Star Wars Battlefront II. Watch the video that offers a glimpse at one of those scenes from the game’s single-player campaign mode and introduces gamer to a threatening rival: Messenger droids.

Battlefront II’s campaign is set among the events of the string’ sixth and seventh episodes, Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Emperor Palpatine has been conquered, but his attendance lingers on in the appearance of the Messenger droids, which are the agents of the Emperor’s Contingency. Messenger’s droids allow a hologram of Palpatine’s face and punish members of the Empire and Rebellion alike.

“Early on in Star Wars Battlefront II, a Messenger tasks iden and her father, Garrick Versio, with terrifying directions,” EA reveals in a PlayStation Blog. “We don’t want to reveal a lot more about this critical sequence, but it’s pretty clear that Iden’s ‘strange task will place her on a collision course with the last requests of the fallen Emperor.”

Star Wars Battlefront II set to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17. Earlier than, EA will hold a beta version for the game from October 6 to 9; those who pre-ordered the title will be able to skip in two days early, on October 4.
